A century ago the Chicago Cubs won the World Series and a man named Jack Norworth wrote “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” a song that is still sung around ballparks to this day.  Today at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, the T-Bones celebrate one of the greatest single hits of 1908.

More than 30 years after the song, Norworth saw his first Major League Baseball game.  The song was made famous by vaudeville acts.  In 1927, Norworth wrote another version. Both versions are about girls who want their boyfriends to take them to a baseball game.
