KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones continued their early season success with a 7-4 victory over the Schaumburg Flyers tonight at Alexian Field, improving to 12-4 while maintaining their first-place position in the Northern League.  They are now 8-1 on the road this season.

Both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings before the T-Bones opened up for four runs in the third against Flyers starter Brian Finch.  The first three batters of the inning singled for Kansas City with the third, Rob Watson, driving in the first T-Bones run when he sent home Aharon Eggleston.  Brad Correll capped off the frame with a three-run home run, his league-leading fifth of the season.

Finch suffered the loss after surrendering four runs on seven hits in six innings of work.

Kansas City starter Anthony Boughner (pictured) held the Flyers to just one run on six hits in his six innings, improving to 3-0 on the season with the victory.  Schaumburg got their lone run off Boughner in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Lance Koenig.

The T-Bones scored their fifth run on a wild pitch by Bryan Hansen in the seventh before adding two runs off Doug Brooks on RBI singles from Geoff McCallum and Correll in the eighth to cap off their scoring at seven.

Schaumburg plated another run in the eighth off reliever Chris Rhoads on an RBI double from Vince Harrison to push the score to 7-2.  Alexy Still made his T-Bones debut in the ninth, surrendering two unearned runs after two errors before giving way to closer David Trahan with two outs.

Trahan got Harrison to pop out to second to earn his league-high sixth save.

Kansas City goes for the sweep tomorrow, sending Kenny Durost to the mound to face Brad Mumma of the Flyers.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:20.
