T-Bones Sign Rookie Reliever05/29/2008 5:59 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Andy McCauley have announced the signing of pitcher Alexy Still. Still, 23, was signed by the New York Yankees last season as a nondrafted free agent. The right-handed hurler played just three games for their Gulf Coast League affiliate, allowing six runs, four earned, on two hits in one and two-thirds total innings. “He’s from my area back home and I got to see him throw some bullpen sessions before he joined us,” said McCauley. “Alexy is a converted outfielder with an athletic body and live, power arm. We think he will fit in nicely as a member of our bullpen.” Still has ties to Kansas City as he is the nephew of three members of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame: Deron Cherry, Art Still and Albert Lewis. The T-Bones finish their homestand tonight against the Gary SouthShore RailCats before heading to Schaumburg for a three-game set. They return home for an eight-game stand on June 3. Single-game tickets, season tickets and mini plans are available now by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-5618. |
