05/26/2008 10:16 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – After falling behind 2-0, the Kansas City T-Bones were able to even the score but couldn’t hold on as they fell to Schaumburg 4-2 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  The T-Bones fell to 8-3 on the season, but maintained their hold on first place.
 
With 3,556 fans in attendance, T-Bones hurler and Northern League Pitcher of the Week Anthony Boughner and pitcher Brian Finch for Schaumburg were effective, each surrendering two runs in their outing.  Neither would factor into the decision.
 
Schaumburg got on the board first, plating two runs in the third inning on four hits.  Rontrez Johnson singled with one out, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.  Bo Hart singled home Johnson and came home on a single by Vince Johnson.
 
Kansas City finally broke through in the fifth with three hits, scoring their first run on a single by Player of the Week Jim Fasano that drove in Rob Watson.  Watson reached with a two-out single and advanced to third on a double by Brad Correll.
 
After drawing a walk to lead off the sixth, Neb Brown was sent to second on a balk by Finch.  Nick Jaros then walked with one out before Finch left in favor of Chris Saenz.  Jaros advanced on a wild pitch by the new hurler before a sacrifice fly from Aharon Eggleston plated Brown to tie the game at two.
 
Boughner stayed in the game through seven innings, surrendering seven hits while striking out five and walking one.
 
After throwing a scoreless eighth, the Flyers got a baserunner on against Rick Hummel with one out due to catcher’s interference with Lance Koenig.  Mark Haske then tripled home Koenig to break the 2-2 tie.  A groundout from Rontrez Johnson sent Haske home, closing out the scoring with the Flyers up two.  Hummel fell to 1-1 with the loss.
 
Kansas City got a runner on in the ninth with a walk from Watson, but that was all Jim Popp would allow as he picked up his second save.
 
The T-Bones start a three-game series tomorrow night against the Gary SouthShore RailCats with Kenny Durost going for Kansas City against Jeremy Plexico for the RailCats.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
