T-Bones Set for Tomorrow's Home Opener

05/22/2008 8:42 AM -

After sweeping the defending-champion Gary SouthShore RailCats in a three-game set to finish off a 6-1 road trip, the first-place Kansas City T-Bones prepare for their 2008 home opener tomorrow night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark against the Schaumburg Flyers.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.

Off to their hottest start in team history, Kansas City leads the league in runs scored (46) and team ERA (3.00).  Third baseman Neb Brown enters the homestand with a .391 average, good for third in the Northern League; and left fielder Brad Correll sits in second place in RBI with eight.  Ace left-hander Anthony Boughner leads the staff with a 2-0 mark, posting a miniscule 0.75 ERA over 12 innings of work.

The T-Bones prepare for a seven-game homestand, hosting the Flyers for four games before the RailCats come to town for three.  All games are scheduled for 7:05 first pitches except Sunday, May 25, which has a 5:05 start time.  The first 5,000 fans to tomorrow’s home opener will receive magnet schedules courtesy of Providence Health Center while the first 3.000 fans will be given t-shirts from CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

Tickets are still available for all games by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-5618 or going online to www.tbonesbaseball.com.  If you can’t make it to the ballpark, you can follow the T-Bones live on the radio by tuning into AM 1660 KXTR.
