GARY, Ind. – The Kansas City T-Bones and Gary SouthShore RailCats were deadlocked through six, but another late offensive outburst from the T-Bones allowed them to win their fourth straight this afternoon with an 8-2 victory at U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Ind.

Anthony Boughner (pictured) and Billy Phillips were stellar for Kansas City and Gary respectively, each holding their opposition scoreless in their outings.  Boughner allowed a baserunner in each of his six innings of work, scattering eight hits while striking out four and walking one in the victory.  An incredible throw by left fielder Brad Correll, nailing Mike Reese at second while he tried to stretch a single into a double, helped Boughner’s cause.

Phillips wouldn’t factor into the decision, despite surrendering just three hits over his six frames.  The right-hander struck out six and walked three in the outing.

The T-Bones took the lead with three runs in the seventh, all charged to Brandon Higelin who lasted just one-third of an inning after surrendering three hits.  An RBI single from Aharon Eggleston and a two-run single from Correll plated the runs for Kansas City.

Gary answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame off Chris Rhoads, the first coming on an RBI double by Rob Marconi.  Marconi would later score on a double play ball by Eric McNamee.

Brian Halford got the final two outs of the seventh before allowing four runs on three hits in the eighth.  Eggleston reached safely on a fielder’s choice while John Martin, in as a pinch-runner after a Craig Hurba double, slid under the tag at home for the first run of the inning.  Rob Watson drove in the next two runs with a double and scored on a single by the next batter, Correll.

Rhoads loaded the bases with two walks and a hit in Gary’s half of the eighth, but induced a popout by Brett Wallace and struck out Marconi to end the threat.

The T-Bones added another off Halford in the ninth on an RBI single by Nick Jaros.  Tag Horner threw a perfect ninth to finish the game for Kansas City.  Correll finished four-for-five with a double and three RBI to pace the T-Bones.

The two teams finish their three-game set tomorrow morning with first pitch scheduled for 10:30.  Kenny Durost is expected to take the mound for Kansas City opposite Kai Tuomi for Gary.
