WINNIPEG, Mb. – The Kansas City T-Bones again jumped out to an early lead but used a late rally to put away the Winnipeg Goldeyes this afternoon, 6-5, at Canwest Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The T-Bones scored their first run of the game with two out in the first inning.  Rob Watson doubled and scored two batters later on a base hit by Jim Fasano to give Kansas City an early 1-0 lead.  The T-Bones took their biggest lead of the game with two tallies in the top of the second.  Nick Jaros reached on an error by the third baseman while Craig Hurba scored and Watson later singled to bring home Jaros, giving the T-Bones a 3-0 advantage.

The Goldeyes started their scoring in the bottom of the second, getting a pair of unearned runs off T-Bones starter Reid Hamblet.  Brady Everett, who reached on an error, scored before Colin Roberson was singled in by Fehlandt Lentini.  The Goldeyes tied the game at three with a run in the bottom of the third when Antoin French singled home Brent Metheny.  Hamblet went four innings allowing three runs, only one earned, on six hits while striking out three and walking one.  He did not factor into the decision.

Winnipeg took their first lead of the game in the seventh on a solo home run by Trino Aguilar off T-Bones reliever Tag Horner.  They added an insurance run in the eighth, capitalizing on a leadoff single from Tydus Meadows who later scored on a throwing error by shortstop Geoff McCallum.

In the ninth, Brad Correll drew a one-out walk before Jim Fasano singled to set the table for Craig Hurba (pictured).  With two outs, the catcher homered over the left-field wall off Goldeyes closer Wayne Foltin.  The blast proved to be the game-winning hit as David Trahan shut down the Goldeyes in the ninth, allowing just one hit to pick up his second save of the season.  Foltin suffered the loss, his first.

Rick Hummel threw one and one-thirds scoreless innings in relief.  Chris Rhoads allowed two runs, one earned, in an inning and a third.  David Haehnel recorded the final two outs in the eight to pick up the win for the T-Bones, his first of the season.

The T-Bones will open a three-game series with the Gary SouthShore RailCats Monday evening at U.S. Steel Yard with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05.  Tony Cogan will start for the RailCats against an unannounced started for the T-Bones.
