KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones were able to even the score at four with a run in the top of the ninth, but Max Poulin led off the bottom of the frame with a game-winning home run to give the Winnipeg Goldeyes a 5-4 victory at Canwest Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

T-Bones starter Kenny Durost walked the first two batters he faced before inducing a double play from the third batter, Brent Metheny.  Kevin West connected for a two-out double, however, plating Fehlandt Lentini to give Winnipeg an early 1-0 lead.

Goldeyes hurler Brandon Kintzler held Kansas City scoreless through the first two innings before surrendering two runs, one earned, in the third.  Aharon Eggleston (pictured) started the inning with a leadoff double and came home on a single by the next hitter, Geoff McCallum.  McCallum headed for second and was safe on an error by the second baseman Trino Aguilar, who mishandled the throw from left fielder Antoin Gray.  McCallum later scored on a groundout by Brad Correll, giving the T-Bones a 2-1 lead.

Kansas City added a run in the top of the fourth on an RBI single from Nick Jaros, plating Kevin Mahar who reached on a throwing error by third baseman Metheny.  Kintzler left after five innings, surrendering three runs, one earned, on four hits in a no-decision.

The first run of Winnipeg’s three-run fourth came on an RBI single from Max Poulin that drove in Gray.  The next hitter, Lentini, tripled home Poulin and scored on an infield single by Aguilar.  Durost was saddled with a no-decision, leaving after four innings while allowing four runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts.

Wayne Foltin came in to close the game for Winnipeg, but gave up an unearned run on a two-out RBI single from Eggleston that plated Neb Brown, who reached safely on a dropped fly ball by Gray.  The Goldeyes committed three errors on the night.  Foltin completed the frame, picking up the victory.

Rick Hummel allowed one hit over two innings of relief for Kansas City before giving way to Brady Martinez.  Martinez threw perfect seventh and eighth innings for Kansas City, but suffered the loss after surrendering a walk-off shot to Poulin to lead off the ninth.
