T-Bones Open on Road Today at CanWest Park

05/15/2008 8:05 AM - The T-Bones open their regular season today at beautiful CanWest Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  The T-Bones will send Anthony Boughner to the mound for the start.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 and can be heard on AM 1660 KXTR.

CanWest Park formerly known as CanWest Global Park is home to the Winnipeg Goldeyes.  The team averages 6,542 fans a game in their 7,481 seat park.  The park is located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg and looking in from the outfield the downtown skyline serves as a perfect backdrop.

CanWest Park is laid out very similar to CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  Unlike the home of the T-Bones, there is no seating beyond the outfield wall.  All the seating is from foul pole to foul pole.  CommunityAmerica Ballpark's capacity is comparable with that of CanWest Park, now that the new bleachers have been added.

Equipped with plenty of seats the stadium has a bit of berm space down the right-field line.  Also on the right side, located on the suite level, there is an Asian restaurant called Hu's on First.  The restaurant is open year-round and even during games.  Customers can have their dinner on the balcony and watch the game without a ticket to the game.

The T-Bones will spend four days at CanWest Park before heading on to the US Steel Yard in Gary, IN.
