T-Bones Win First Game vs. River City, Second Washed Out

05/10/2008 8:01 PM -
O’Fallon, MO – The slow drizzle that turned into a heavy downpour on yet another May afternoon couldn’t stop game one of the Kansas City T-Bones doubleheader against the River City Rascals, as the T-Bones took the exhibition 9-4 in seven innings at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.

The T-Bones got on the board early with three runs in the top of the first off RiverCity starter Scott Fogelson.  Brad Correll doubled in Rob Watson, and then Correll scored one batter later as first-baseman Jim Fasano homered to right-center.

Chris Raniere took advantage of his first at-bat of spring training for the Rascals, as the rookie blasted a home run to leading off the Rascals second inning against Anthony Boughner.

The T-Bones would put up three more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to secure the lead.  The Rascals added tallies in the fourth and fifth innings.  Left-fielder Jeff Miller’s single drove in two in the fourth while a wild pitch plated Greg Stone in the fifth.

The second game of the doubleheader was called due to rain.
