The T-Bones played an errorless game while keeping the bats hot in their 11-6 win over the Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devils Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The two teams both call CommunityAmerica Ballpark home and this marked the second time the teams have met in an exhibition game.

The T-Bones bats stayed quiet until Aharon Eggleston and Geoff McCallum hit back-to-back doubles in that order to give the T-Bones a 1-0 lead. KCKCC tied the score with a run in the top of the fourth off Derek Blacksher. Zach Theadman reached on a fielder’s choice, then stole second and scored on a single by Ben Pieper.

The T-Bones reclaimed the lead and opened up the game with a six-run fifth inning sending 11 batters to the plate. Nick Jaros highlighted the inning with a two-run home run to left. Rob Watson, Brad Correll and Kevin Mahar also added RBI in the inning.

The Blue Devils used a big inning in the seventh to pull back within one. Down 7-2, KCKCC scored four runs off T-Bones reliever Jerry Oakes to get back in the game. Oakes hit two batters and walked three others allowing for hits from Kyle Koch and Brett McMurray to drive in the inning’s four runs.

The T-Bones added another run on a solo home run by Mario Delgado in the bottom of the seventh and three more runs in the eighth including an RBI triple by Jaros. He finished two-for-four with three RBI and two runs scored. Eggleston enjoyed a three-hit night with an RBI and two runs. The T-Bones got three scoreless innings from starter Josh Hamblit who allowed only one hit and struck out two. Blacksher allowed two earned runs in his three innings of work while striking out four batters and earning the win. Chris Rhoads gave the T-Bones 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
