The River City Baseball Festival will come to CommunityAmerica Ballpark again in 2008.  The 24 team round-robin tournament features schools from the Kansas City area as well as Lawrence, Springfield and Omaha.  CommunityAmerica Ballpark will be the primary site hosting 12 of the 31 games Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19.

“CommunityAmerica Ballpark and the Kansas City T-Bones are gracious hosts for area high school baseball teams in the 2008 River City Baseball Festival,” said Lawrence Free State High School baseball coach Mike Hill.  “We are fortunate to be able to host the top area high school baseball tournament in such a fine venue.”

Tickets are available the day of the games at each site and cost $5 for adults and $3 for students.
