Brown Re-Ups for Upcoming Season

02/26/2008 3:07 PM -

T-Bones manager Andy McCauley has announced Neb Brown will resume his post at third base again for the T-Bones this season.  Brown, 28, split time last season between second and third base before settling in as the team’s everyday third baseman.

Brown finished 2007 hitting .314 with 12 home runs and 62 runs batted in.  He was one of three T-Bones to have double figure home run totals.  Brown’s 22 stolen bases were good for a tie for the team lead with Aharon Eggleston, he was also caught only three times tying him also with Eggleston for the league lead in stolen base percentage.

“Neb is just a quality RBI and run producer,” said McCauley.  “We’re looking to put him back at third base and put him in the middle of our lineup.  He’s a professional on and off the field and we’re looking forward to another good year from him.”

Brown was originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 11th round of the 2002 draft.  The first four seasons of his professional career were spent in the Diamondbacks system before playing in the independent American Association in 2006 prior to joining the T-Bones last season.

The T-Bones open the 2008 season on the road May 15 in Winnipeg, before the home-opener at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on May 23 against Schaumburg.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.  Season tickets and mini plans are available now by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-5618.
