Arlis Signs with Rangers

01/03/2008 12:07 PM -

Manager Andy McCauley and the Kansas City T-Bones of the Independent Northern League are happy to announce that catcher Patrick Arlis has been signed by the Texas Rangers with an invitation to spring training. Arlis joined the T-Bones in July and hit .262 with 19 RBI in 46 games. Arlis was second in the league throwing out 34 of 53 attempted base stealers. Prior to Arils’ arrival the T-Bones went 17-29, after he arrived the team went 27-23 for the final 50 games of the season barely missing the postseason.

“Patrick did a great job for us down the stretch last year,” said T-Bones manager Andy McCauley. “He was exactly what we needed at that point of the season, a great defensive catcher that handled our staff very well. We wish him the best of luck with the Ranger organization.”

Arlis was originally drafted in the 11th round of the 2002 June draft by the Florida Marlins. He played in the Marlins system reaching Triple-A Albuquerque before his release in 2007.

The T-Bones open the 2008 season on the road May 15 in Winnipeg, before the home-opener at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on May 23 against Schaumburg.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.  Season tickets are available now by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-5618.
