T-Bones Among Best Drawing Teams in all of Minor League Baseball

11/01/2007 2:06 PM -

The Kansas City T-Bones of the independent Northern League are happy to announce the T-Bones averaged the fourth best attendance of all of independent baseball’s 64 teams.  Northern League rival Winnipeg is at the top of the list averaging 6,542 fans per game.

The T-Bones average of 6,024 fans nightly, ranked 38th of 263 total minor league baseball teams.  Of the 37 teams that averaged higher numbers, 22 of them were triple A.

“The Northern League is very proud of its attendance leaders, Winnipeg and Kansas City, whose talented and dedicated ownership and management make the Goldeyes and T-Bones industry leaders,” said Northern League commissioner Clark Griffith.  “Furthermore, their success shows why the Northern League leads independent leagues in attendance.”

The T-Bones set their total attendance record for the fifth straight season welcoming 289,162 in 2007.  The T-Bones averaged over 6,000 for the first time in franchise history and continued to increase the attendance per capacity, which reached 138 percent.

“With our limited number of fixed seats, this ratio exhibits the growing popularity of our least-expensive ticket,” said T-Bones vice-president Adam Ehlert.  “The berm is a wonderful place for families to watch the game--the parents can comfortably relax on a blanket, while the kids run around chasing foul balls and homeruns.”

Season tickets for the 2008 season are on sale now by calling the T-Bones ticket manager at (913) 328-5640.  The T-Bones will open their home season on May 23 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark where parking is always free.
