T-Bones Present Check to Komen Foundation

10/11/2007 11:31 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones paid a visit to the Greater Kansas City Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Thursday, October 4th.  On behalf of the baseball club, Bear Goodell, Director of Marketing and Promotions, and Sarah Keel, Director of Merchandise, presented Amy Loughman, Director of Development for Komen (all pictured), with a check for $5,166.50.

The money was raised during the T-Bones Breast Cancer Awareness Day, which took place August 5th.  The T-Bones wore pink jerseys for the game which were then auctioned off.  The T-Bones also raised money throughout the season, selling pink, breast cancer awareness t-shirts in the Team Store at the Legends and at the stadium gift shop.  $4 from each shirt sold went to the Greater Kansas City Susan G. Komen for the Cure and there are shirts still available.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the T-Bones and Komen for the Cure remind all women that now is the time to schedule their annual mammograms, but also to practice good breast health every month of the year.
