KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kansas City rallied back from a seven-run deficit to earn their third come-from-behind victory in as many games, defeating the Winnipeg Goldeyes 11-10 in front of 7,729 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

After tying the game in the eighth, Kansas City took their final and only lead of the contest on a fielder’s choice by Rob Watson that scored Patrick Arlis to give the T-Bones their fourth consecutive victory.

Kansas City starter Dan Jackson gave up a pair of home runs to Walter Young and Brent Metheny in the first inning, giving the Goldeyes an early 4-0 lead.  The T-Bones answered with a three-run bottom half of the inning, starting with an error that scored Geoff McCallum and finishing with a two-run home run from Mario Delgado (pictured) that brought the T-Bones within one.

Winnipeg bolstered their lead on a solo home run by Jordan Lundberg in the second and followed that with another four-run inning in the third, knocking out Jackson and giving the visitors a six-run cushion, 9-3.

Nelson Gord’s RBI single in the fourth ignited a Kansas City comeback that saw them score at least one run in each of the final six frames.  Calvin Pickering blasted his team-leading 13th home run of the season in the fifth, making the score 10-5.

Kansas City shrank the Goldeyes lead to three in the sixth on a pair of RBI singles by Delgado and Rob Watson before Aharon Eggleston’s two-RBI single dwindled Winnipeg’s lead to one after seven.  A solo home run by Delgado finally brought the teams even again in the eighth, 10-10.

Jackson pitched two innings in the contest, surrendering nine runs on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Newly acquired Raymond Jenkins made his debut with Kansas City, pitching four innings and surrendering one run on two hits. Travis Schlichting pitched two and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball before Matt Schweitzer was brought in to record the final out in the top of the ninth for Kansas City, picking up the win and improving to 3-2 on the year.

Manny Basilio, who pitched two and one-thirds innings while surrendering two runs on two hits, was credited with the loss.

Game Notes: Rob Watson’s single in the first inning extended his home on-base streak to 36 games.  The hit also brought Watson’s home hit streak to 16 games…Mario Delgado’s two-run home run in the first brought his hitting streak to 10 games.  Delgado’s two home runs were number 99 and 100 for his career.  Delgado’s two home runs were his first multi-home run game since September 4, 2005, a span of 194 games…Nelson Gord extended his hit streak to 10 games with a single in the fourth…Calvin Pickering’s solo home run in the fifth extended his home on-base streak to 22 games…Dan Jackson’s ERA over his last three starts climbed to 26.13…Rob Watson’s four-for-six night at the plate was the infielder’s fifth four-hit game of the season…The game time of three hours, 52 minutes was the longest nine-inning game in Kansas City T-Bones history…Kansas City’s four-game winning streak is the longest of the season…The T-Bones improved to 5-1 in Saturday games played at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
