KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones took a two-run lead into the bottom of the sixth but the Edmonton Cracker-Cats battled back with a three-run frame on their way to a 7-6 victory at TELUS Field in Edmonton.

Edmonton got on the board first with a three-run second inning off T-Bones starter Anthony Boughner (pictured), scoring the first two runs of the frame on a double from Jason Aspito that plated Chris Becker and Adam Shorsher.  The third run of the inning came on a double from Tim Ryan that scored Aspito.

The T-Bones answered in the third off Edmonton starter Scott Richmond on a two-run single by Aharon Eggleston that brought home Austin Easley and Jason Belcher.  Al Benjamin then led off the fourth with a triple and would later score on a groundout by Calvin Pickering to tie the game at three.

Kansas City added two more runs on three hits in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead against Richmond before Edmonton answered with another three run frame, this time in the bottom of the sixth.  After an RBI double from Shorsher, Aspito added his second two-RBI basehit of the contest, a single, to give the Cracker-Cats a one-run advantage.  Edmonton added one more in the seventh on an RBI single from Ryan Radmanovich before Boughner gave way to reliever Danny Core in the eighth.

Boughner picked up the loss after allowing seven runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work.  Richmond surrendered five runs on seven hits in six innings to improve to 5-2 on the season.  Louis Pote surrendered an RBI single to Nelson Gord in the ninth but held on for his second save.

Game Notes:  Pickering went one-for-three with an intentional walk to extend his road on-base streak to 12 games…Tonight was Boughner’s first appearance against Edmonton in his three-year Northern League career…After winning three of four to finish off their last road trip, Kansas City has now lost seven of their last eight games…The T-Bones are 1-9 against Canadian teams this season, their only victory coming at home versus Edmonton on May 21.
