06/24/2007 8:14 PM -

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Kansas City squandered an early six-run lead as Fargo scored 11 unanswered runs to claim an 11-7 victory, taking the series in front of 6,022 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

RedHawks starter Brandon Goltz had difficulty locating the strike zone in his one and one-thirds inning of work, walking the first two batters in each of the first two innings. Austin Easley’s two-RBI double in the second made the score 2-0 and put the T-Bones on top for just the second time in the series.

A pitching change could not stop the bleeding for Fargo as reliever John Howerton gave up a two-run single to Rob Watson that put the T-Bones up four. Kansas City added two more on a pair of RBI singles by Mario Delgado and Calvin Pickering as six T-Bones crossed the plate in the bottom half of the second.

The RedHawks got on the board with three runs in the fourth before tying the game up at six in the seventh on Joe Mathis’ RBI single. Richard Austin capped off his four-for-five night with an RBI double that gave the RedHawks their first lead three batters later.

Fargo added three more in the eighth before Dylan Parzyk (pictured) hit his first career home run in the bottom of the inning to make the score 11-7.

T-Bones starter Lavon Lewis pitched five and one-third innings, yielding five runs on seven hits while striking out two and walking one in the no decision.

Brett Reid entered in the sixth and pitched one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and three runs while taking the loss. Travis Schlichting pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up three runs on five hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Matt Schweitzer finished the game for the T-Bones, going one and two-thirds scoreless innings without allowing a hit and walking one. Jason Schutt was credited with the win for Fargo-Moorhead after allowing just three hits in four scoreless innings of relief.
