GARY, Ind. – The Kansas City T-Bones used timely hitting and a stellar effort from their bullpen to improve to 4-0 against the division-leading Gary SouthShore RailCats with a 5-3 win at the U.S. Steel Yard tonight in Gary.

Kansas City scored in each of the first four innings, plating their first run when Aharon Eggleston scored on an errant throw from third baseman Tanner Townsend on a sacrifice bunt attempt by Rob Watson in the first inning.  They would add another in the second when Gary starter Jim Paduch threw a wild pitch with the bases loaded and two outs.  Doubles from Watson and Mario Delgado, followed by a sacrifice fly from Austin Easley, accounted for two T-Bones runs in the third while an RBI single from Neb Brown scored Nelson Gord for the fifth Kansas City run in the fourth.  All five runs would come off Paduch, four of which were earned, who also surrendered six hits as he suffered his first loss of the season.

T-Bones starter Chris Krawczyk (pictured) held Gary scoreless until the third inning when they scored two runs on two hits, both singles.  Dave Detienne and Nate Price each drove in one run apiece.  Krawczyk would allow one more run in the sixth on a two-out RBI single from Steve Haake and was pulled in favor of Travis Schlichting following that at bat.  Schlichting would get the next batter, Jose Yepez, to end the inning and threw scoreless seventh and eighth innings to keep the T-Bones in front of the RailCats.  Krawczyk allowed the three runs on nine hits as he picked up his first victory of the season.

Dan Jackson pitched a scoreless ninth inning for Kansas City to pick up his sixth save of the year.

Game Notes:  The T-Bones victory snapped a nine-game home winning streak for the RailCats…Eggleston walked and singled twice to extend his current on-base streak to 12 games.  He posted a 13 game on-base streak earlier this season…Neb Brown singled and walked to extend his current on-base streak to 11 games.  He also posted a 13 game on-base streak earlier this year…Calvin Pickering was ejected in the seventh inning after arguing a called third strike…Cole Stipovich made his professional debut for Gary in the sixth inning, allowing two hits while striking out one in a scoreless frame.
