SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The Kansas City T-Bones used a five-run seventh inning to down the Flyers 8-6 in the series finale at Alexian Field in Schaumburg.  The T-Bones had to play catch up again as they faced an early 3-0 deficit after two innings.

The Flyers got on the board early with a solo home run by last night’s hero Christian Snavely off of T-Bones starter Kenny Durost, his third of the season.  The Flyers would add two more in the bottom of the second inning.  After two were out Billy Malone hit his second homer of the season, a two-run shot that scored Josh Noviskey who had reached earlier on a fielder’s choice.

Trailing 3-0, the T-Bones began to battle back in the top of the third when Neb Brown singled home Aharon Eggleston (pictured) from second after he drew a leadoff walk to begin the inning.  Then, with two outs in the fifth, Calvin Pickering doubled off Flyers starter Dan Grybash, plating Mario Delgado and Brad Correll to tie the game at three.

Durost left the game after allowing four hits and three runs in five innings of work.  Grybash went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking one.  Neither starter figured in the decision.

The decisive seventh inning saw the T-Bones score five runs off Flyers reliever John Bryant, who had been called on to relieve Grybash.  The T-Bones used five hits, one an RBI double by Correll, and two walks, one intentional, to take an 8-3 lead in the seventh.  Brown, Delgado, Correll, Austin Easley and Jason Belcher all scored in the frame.

The Flyers made a push in the bottom of the inning, scoring three times off T-Bones reliever Jason Costi.  Kevin House, Demetrius Heath and Snavely all singled and scored in the inning.  The three runs by the Flyers would be it, sending the T-Bones to an 8-6 victory.  Costi lasted an inning and two-thirds to pick up his first professional win.  Trevor Caughey replaced Costi and went an inning and a third, allowing just one hit before Dan Jackson pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his fifth save of the season.

The T-Bones are off tomorrow before traveling to Joliet to begin a three-game series with the JackHammers.  The first game of the set is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:05.

Game Notes:  Rob Watson, Brown, Delgado and Easley all had two-hit performances…Eggleston went three-for-four with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.  The stolen base was his tenth of the season, tying him for second in the league with Cameron Coughlan of Winnipeg.
