KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kansas City T-Bones manager Andy McCauley has announced the signing of former Schaumburg Flyer Nelson Gord.  Gord, 25, has played for McCauley the past three seasons while playing for the Schaumburg Flyers.

“Nelson first came to me as a rookie in 2004 with Schaumburg.  He’s an exciting player who’s very versatile that can play six of the nine positions on the field very well, and he plays the other three pretty good also,” said McCauley.  “He’s going to give us a lot more flexibility.  He’s a real hard worker and a gamer.”

Gord hit .272 last season with two home runs and 28 runs batted in while playing every position on the field.  Defensively, Gord committed just nine errors in 92 games last season with the Flyers.  He was also fifth in the league with 27 stolen bases, a career high.  Gord also set a league record by being hit by 28 pitches.
