KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones lost 10-8 to Edmonton Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark as they fell to 4-3.  T-Bones pitchers allowed seven walks and the team committed three errors in the loss.

Jonathan Krysa (pictured) started in front of 4,049 fans and struggled for a second consecutive start.  Krysa walked six batters on the night, leading to big innings in the third and fifth for Edmonton.  The defense made three errors behind Krysa, leading to five unearned runs.
 
The T-Bones took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  The first three batters all reached safely, with Rob Watson and Neb Brown scoring on Donaldo Mendez’s double to right center.  Mendez would later score on a single by Brad Correll.  Kansas City quickly got back to work in the second and Mendez capitalized again, singling in his third RBI of the night, scoring center fielder Aharon Eggleston.

The Cracker-Cats put together a four-run inning in the third to tie the affair at four.  Krysa walked four batters in the inning, also hitting a batter and throwing a wild pitch to allow Edmonton to get back into the game.

The T-Bones answered, loading the bases off of starter Jordy Alexander in the third.  Alexander was then relived by Dorian Castro, who gave up a triple to Eggleston, which knocked in Correll, Jason Belcher and Austin Easley.  Castro pitched three and two-thirds scoreless innings to collect his first professional win.

Krysa got into another jam in the fifth and gave up the lead again as he walked two to start the inning.  Then an error by Brown at third, a fielder’s choice hit by Rhett Teller and a single by Rob Recuenco led to all three runs in the inning.

Edmonton took the lead for the first time off of Krysa in the sixth and added two insurance runs off reliever Rick Hummel in the seventh.  Kansas City added one run in the seventh, but their comeback fell short as reliever Mike Johnson pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his league-leading third save.

Game Notes:  Kansas City’s 2-3-4 hitters went eight-for-14 in the contest, driving in four of their eight runs…Kyle Nichols reached base in four of his five plate appearances, walking three times and drawing a hit by pitch…Jason Aspito was the only Cracker-Cat to have a multi-hit game.  The T-Bones had four players with more than one hit…Mario Delgado hit two doubles in the game for Kansas City to take the league lead with five.
