T-Bones Conclude Schaumburg Series with 4-1 Loss

05/21/2006 3:49 PM - SCHAUMBURG, ILL. - The T-Bones completed their first visit to Schaumburg by dropping their third-straight game Sunday afternoon, falling 4-1 to the Flyers at Alexian Field.

For the first time in the series, Schaumburg struck first as Jared Patterson sent two runners home on a single in the bottom of the third, and taking an early 2-0 lead.

Greg Jacobs took matters in is own hands in the top of the fourth, blasting a pitch over the left field wall and narrowing the T-Bones deficit to one run, but he would end up as the only T-Bone to cross the plate in the game.

Patterson gave the Flyers another spark in the bottom of the fifth as he got on base with a bloop single. Back-to-Back fielders choice plays would score two runs later in the inning, giving Shaumburg a 4-1 lead.

The T-Bones finished with six hits and committed just one error while Schaumburg scored their four runs on nine hits while committing three errors. Kansas City had runners on base in each of the last seven innings, but was unable to move them home.

In his five innings of work, T-Bones starter Larry Robles gave up four runs, all earned, and struck out three. James Morrison replaced Robles in the bottom of the sixth. Caleb Balbuena and Byron Embry pitched in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively. Robles was charged with the loss.

The T-Bones (1-3) will take Monday off before returning to CommunityAmerica Ballpark for their home opener with the Joliet JackHammers Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
