T-Bones Conclude Exhibition Season with 9-2 Win

05/13/2006 11:21 AM - Fargo, N.D. — Cold weather was blamed for the shortened game as the T-Bones won their third game of the pre-season, 9-2, over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field on Friday.

Kansas City took 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning but was unable to maintain it as the RedHawks posted two runs in the bottom half of the first inning on just one hit. Fargo-Moorhead’s two runs, scored by Brent Krause and Richard Austin, were the only two runs the team was able to plate in the inclement weather.

The T-Bones recorded two four-run innings in the seven inning affair. In the top of the third Kansas City scored four runs on five consecutive hits including two doubles. They had another four-run inning in the top half of the sixth.

Fargo-Moorhead had just one more opportunity to make a comeback, but was unable to as the game was called after six innings of play due to the weather.

Eric Ebers earned the win for the T-Bones after pitching one scoreless inning and striking out two. The loss was charged to Mike Peschel, who got the start for the RedHawks.
