Jonathan Krysa (W, 2-6) pitched a complete game as the T-Bones defeated the division-leading St. Paul Saints 3-2 in the first game of a four-game series. The win moves the T-Bones to with in a half-game of the defending Northern League champs.

Krysa's gem was his first victory since going six innings in the T-Bones' June 6th victory over Calgary. On this night, the Rockhurst University alum worked quickly and pitched effectively in going the distance. After allowing a first inning homer to former T-Bone third baseman Chad Ehrnsberger, Krysa went into cruise control and allowed only one earned run on seven hits while fanning seven in going the distance.

Krysa was guided by a superb T-Bone defense that turned three double plays on the evening. Right fielder Greg Jacobs showed off his spectacular arm when he gunned down Tonayne Brown at second from the warning track after Brown hit what looked like a sure double in the seventh inning.

Mike Brown smacked four singles in four at-bats and Ray Brown drove in two runs for the T-Bones. In his T-Bone debut, former major leaguer and Kansas City product David Segui was hitless in his two at-bats. However, Segui walked twice and had a powerful influence on the field in his first significant baseball action since last season when he was with the Baltimore Orioles. Segui was the DH and batted fifth for the T-Bones and was welcomed with a rousing ovation after being introduced for the first time to fans.

The T-Bones and Saints play the second game of the four game series tomorrow night at 7:05 with Jon McDonald (3-2, 1.74) opposing Saints righty Darren Truty (4-1, 2.55).

Notes: Brown extended his hitting streak to seven games... Ray Brown's double was his tenth of the season...
