Fresh off a seven-game road trip in which the T-Bones lost four of seven contests, the T-Bones returned to CommunityAmerica Ballpark Friday night in winning fashion, defeating the Gary SouthShore RailCats, 6-2.

Mike Brown lead the charge for the T-Bone offense, doing damage with both his bat and legs. Brown was successful in all three of his stolen base attempts and also scored four runs in the game. At the dish, the second baseman was 2-2 with a single, a solo home run and two walks. Ray Brown continued to swing a hot bat chipping in with three RBI, and newcomer Greg Jacobs had three hits while driving in a run. In only four games, Jacobs is batting a sizzling .500 with seven hits in 14 at-bats.

Jon McDonald (3-2) pitched seven strong innings in earning the win. The righty allowed two runs, only one of which was earned, and fanned four RailCats.

The T-Bones handed Gary hurler Quintin Oldenburg (6-1) his first loss of the season. The T-Bones were selective with the bats and forced Oldenburg into a high pitch count early in the ballgame before he gave way to the bullpen. The victory allowed KC to jump ahead of Gary for second place in the South Division, and now lead the RailCats by half a game in the standings.

Notes: The T-Bones are now 10-5 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark this season.. Mike Brown is 10-12 on steal attempts this season... In the third, Brandon Jones made an outstanding defensive play diving to his left on Tanner Townsend's grounder and rifling to first to record the out and halt the bid for extra bases...
