The Winnipeg Goldeyes busted out with four runs in the bottom of the third inning against Kansas City T-Bone starter Nick Webb to take a 4-2 lead, but five unanswered runs from the T-Bones gave the T-Bones a 7-4 win in front of 7,420 at CanWest Global Park in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

Webb had worked the first two innings, allowing just a hit and a walk, before the eventful third in which Winnipeg sent nine men to the plate and scored four. The first run of the frame scored on a triple by Odannis Ayala, and protests by T-Bones manager Al Gallagher that Ayala missed first base fell on deaf ears. Harry Berrios followed the disputed triple with a two-run homer and Donnie Ross made it back-to-back jacks against Webb for a 4-2 lead.

David Viane (W, 2-1) came on in relief of Webb two batters later and retired eight straight batters before walking Russ Jacobson. Viane hurled 4 1/3 innings on the day, allowing just one hit, a Max Poulin leadoff triple in the bottom of the seventh.

The T-Bones had scored single runs in the second and third innings against Winnipeg starter Alex Perez, with singles by Matt Ceriani and Eddie Pearson giving the T-Bones a 2-0 margin.

Kansas City fought back in the fourth, with two hit batsmen followed by a run-scoring double from Rick Prieto and an RBI groundout from Eric Vega. Vega drove in a career-best two runs on the day, including the go-ahead run in the seventh with a double to right to score Prieto and saddle reliever Ivan Hernandez (L, 0-3) with the loss.

Mike Brown's two-run double in the ninth capped the scoring for the T-Bones, and Derek Forbes retired the side in order in the ninth inning to earn his seventh save in eight chances.

Notes: The T-Bones were without a homer for the season-high third game in a row... Kansas City is now 8-0 when not committing an error... Rick Prieto and Ray Brown now each have six-game hitting streaks and Mike Brown has a five-gamer... contenders for player of the week include Ray Brown (.480, HR, 6 RBI) and Rick Prieto (.458, 5 2B, 7 R)... pitcher of the week nominee will be Greg Bicknell (1-0, 8 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K).
