After getting outslugged in the continuation of last night's game, which was suspended by rain, the Kansas City T-Bones used a quality start from veteran righty Greg Bicknell and a two-run homer from Cody Nowlin to salvage a split in the doubleheader, 4-3.

The T-Bones were behind 3-0 when the Tuesday game was suspended. Lincoln didn't stop there, scoring seven runs against T-Bones starter Jonathan Krysa in his six innings of work. Both Krysa and Saltdog starter Michael Kesten came back the next day after Tuesday's delay. Krysa allowed one home run Tuesday, a two-run shot to Bryan Warner, and one Wednesday, a three-run shot to Jake Whitesides. The final tally in the first game was 12-3, Lincoln.

Kesten came back nicely, allowing just two earned runs in his 5.2 innings of work while striking out four. The T-Bones scored their runs on run-scoring singles off the bats of Mike Brown, Cody Nowlin and Chad Sosebee.

In the second game, Lincoln jumped out to an early lead when Josh Patton singled in Pichi Balet. However, Eddie Pearson's RBI single was followed by Nowlin's shot, giving the T-Bones a 3-1 lead. Kansas City would score an unearned insurance run in the fourth, which would turn out to be invaluable as Balet smacked a two-run homer in the top of the fifth against Bicknell.

Derek Forbes worked a scoreless seventh inning to earn his fifth save of the season in six tries.

The T-Bones and Saltdogs conclude their series with a Businessman's Special 12:05 game tomorrow afternoon. Jon McDonald will start for the T-Bones, while Saltdog hurler Brian Rodaway will take the bump in the matinee. Tickets are still available by calling (913)328-BALL (2255).
