T-Bone starter Jon McDonald notched his second victory of the season Thursday afternoon with a complete game shutout over the Lincoln Saltdogs, 3-0. The righty allowed five hits and struck out seven batters. At one point, McDonald retired 15 of 16 batters, including 12 straight. McDonald's performance lowered his already team-best ERA to a microscopic 0.83 for the season.

Kansas City produced all of their runs in the first inning. Mike Brown started things off with a single to left off Lincoln starter Brian Rodaway. Brown then advanced to third after stealing second and a throwing error by catcher Kevin Sullivan. Ray Brown's ground ball plated Mike Brown, giving Kansas City a 1-0 lead.

DH Eddie Pearson then slapped a two-out double, followed by a Cody Nowlin single which moved Pearson to third; Nowlin advanced to second on the throw. Rookie third baseman Brandon Jones came through once again with a single of his own that allowed both runs to score giving KC a three-run advantage. The victory was the T-Bones' second consecutive over the Saltdogs and improved their overall record to 8-5.

Lincoln had threatened in the first inning, with runners at the corners and two outs, but McDonald struck out Kevin Grijack and induced a ground ball from Josh Patton to end the threat.

Notes: The three-game series against the Saltdogs was played in under 24 hours due to Tuesday's rainout and Wednesday's doubleheader... after scoring 12 runs in the first game, the Saltdogs managed only 3 for games two and three combined... the T-Bones continue their longest homestand of the season with a three-game series against the Schaumberg Flyers beginning Friday at 7:05.
