KANSAS CITY, Kan. – On a hot and humid Saturday night, the Kansas City T-Bones beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 4-1, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The 100 degree temperatures weren’t the only thing that was hot at tonight’s matchup. T-Bones’ right fielder, Chantz Mack, launched a solo home run to right field in the first inning to kick off the game for Kansas City.

The Goldeyes tied the game up at 1-1 in the third inning, but just briefly. Second baseman, Jordan Ebert, scored off of a putout by American Association batting leader, Wes Darvill (.356),  evening the score.

Kansas City took back the lead in the fourth with another home run, this time by left fielder, Kyle Petty. The T-Bones led 2-1 going into the fifth inning.

The T-Bones went scoreless for the following three innings, but an RBI double to right field from first baseman, Kevin Keyes, would put Kansas City up 4-1 going into the ninth inning to get the win and take the series.

Chris Perry (3-2, 5.18), a right-handed pitcher, picked up the win for Kansas City with right-handed pitcher, Edwin Carl, taking the loss for the Goldeyes. Right-handed pitcher, Cody Winiarski (2-1, 2.12) tossed the 1-2-3 save to end the game.

For tomorrow afternoon’s matchup against the Goldeyes, right-handed pitcher, Scott Carroll (5-3, 3.39) will take the mound with left-handed pitcher, Kevin McGovern (7-2, 2.33) pitching for Winnipeg.

The T-Bones (36-25) will finish up the series with Winnipeg (34-26) tomorrow afternoon at 1:05 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Fans can come out and enjoy $0.50 hot dogs and a post-game hot dog eating contest.
