09/02/2004 1:31 PM - Three times in the last six games, the T-Bones walked off the CommunityAmerica Ballpark field as winners in their last at-bat. In Wednesday night's game, the T-Bones fought back from a 5-1 deficit to take a 6-5 lead, but couldn't hold on as the Lincoln Saltdogs won, 7-6, snapping a nine-game T-Bone winning streak.

Lincoln got the decisive runs against reliever Matt McClellan (8-6), who was making his first outing from the bullpen since July 6th. Charles Peterson's game-tying double scored Bryan Warner, who had singled and stolen second. After an infield single by Jorge Moreno, Albenis Machado singled to right to score Peterson and give Lincoln a lead they would never relinquish.

Hideki Nagasaka started on the hill for Lincoln and stymied the T-Bones, allowing just one run into the fifth inning. But Nagasaka found problems with his command in the fifth, allowing a two-run double to Chad Hill and a run-scoring double to Ray Brown before walking three consecutive T-Bones, including Mike Brown to force in a run.

Kansas City took the lead in the eighth when Hill, who doubled to lead off, scored on a sac fly to shallow right that second baseman Clemente Bonilla handled. Bonilla couldn't get enough on the throw to get Hill, but the T-Bones left their potential insurance runs stranded at the corners against reliever Adam Lesko, who got the win for Lincoln (3-1).

Lincoln scored five runs, three earned, against starter Jon McDonald, who departed after four while walking three.

Notes: The nine game streak was the longest of the season for the T-Bones... The magic number for Kansas City is one, as the Schaumburg Flyers lost 1-0 to Gary... Chad Hill was a home run short of the cycle... McClellan allowed no hits and struck out five in his first three innings... Lincoln manager Tim Johnson, third base coach Mike Busch and third baseman Josh Patton were all ejected from the game.
