The St. Paul Saints (40-29) scored three runs on three hits and three walks against Kyle Dahman (1-3) in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally for a 6-5 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones (33-36) on Tuesday night at Midway Stadium.
 
A solo home run by T-Bones catcher Kala Ka’aihue opened the scoring against starter Kyle Carr in the top of the second inning. St. Paul answered with an unearned run against Reid Santos in the bottom of the third, tying the game at one when Ole Sheldon reached on an error and later scored on an RBI double by Argelis Nunez.

Kansas City took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Rico Washington. The T-Bones added three more runs on four hits in the sixth, chasing Carr after the first three batters of the inning reached safely. A bases-loaded walk to Gerardo Caceres forced in the first run before an RBI single by Jimmy Mojica plated the second. Washington followed with a sacrifice fly later in the inning to give Kansas City a 5-1 advantage.

Carr allowed five runs on eight hits over five-plus innings, but would not factor into the decision.

The Saints responded with two runs in the sixth, forcing Santos to depart with the bases loaded and one out. Steven Stewart finished the inning for Kansas City and added two scoreless frames to keep the score at 5-3 as the game headed into the bottom of the ninth.

Santos was charged with three runs, two earned, on six hits while walking five over five and one-thirds innings. He did not factor into the decision.

Dahman surrendered a single and a walk to his first two batters before the T-Bones cut down the lead runner on a sacrifice attempt by Richard Mercado. Jonathan Van Every followed with an RBI double before Dahman intentionally walked Justin Snyder. After a strikeout by Adam Frost kept the bases loaded with two outs, former Royal Shane Costa drew a four-pitch walk to force in the tying run. Sheldon then connected for a single to hand the T-Bones their fifth walk-off loss of the season, 6-5.

Dahman suffered the blown save and the loss after allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in two-thirds of an inning. Kyle Foster (4-1) struck out two of the three batters he faced in the top of the ninth to earn the victory.

Kansas City looks to Wichita State product Kris Johnson (2-2, 3.54) for the series victory in the rubber match on Wednesday night as the T-Bones face Edwin Walker (3-4, 4.50) and St. Paul.
