After taking a 2-0 lead against Scott Hodsdon (2-4) in the bottom of the first, Kansas City added four more in the third for a six-run advantage. A three-run home run by Johnny Bowden highlighted the attack.

Hodsdon left after allowing the first two batters to reach in the fourth and was charged with eight runs on eleven hits in the loss.

El Paso scored a single tally in the top of the fourth before Kansas City added two in the fourth and three in the fifth, two on a home run by Ray Sadler, to make the score 11-1. Devin Anderson (5-6) surrendered two more runs to the Diablos in the top of the seventh to end his night. The left-hander allowed three runs on seven hits in seven innings for the victory.

Kevin Light opened the eighth for Kansas City, inducing a quick out before allowing three singles and two walks and giving way to Martin Dewald. Dewald surrendered an RBI single to Kevin Smith and a two-run single to Stephen Douglas to cap off a five-run inning that made the score 11-8.

The T-Bones scored two in the bottom of the inning before El Paso collected one unearned run off Drew Graham, who finished the game for Kansas City.

The teams combined for 30 hits in the contest and every T-Bones starter collected at least one each. Six of the nine T-Bones hitters posted multi-hit games. Sadler, Bowden, and Aharon Eggleston drove in three runs each for Kansas City.
