KANSAS CITY – Kansas City first baseman Ray Brown drove in the first of four sixth-inning runs that snapped a 2-all tie Tuesday night in a 6-2 win over Joliet at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Brown’s double was the first of three doubles in the inning that fueled the T-Bones’ rally. With the win, Kansas City improved to 15-22 on the season.

T-Bones’ starter Greg Bicknell (3-0) struck out eight in seven innings of work to set a new personal standard for the season. The right-hander limited the JackHammers (18-19) to just two runs en route to winning his second straight decision. Chris Spigner (0-1) allowed all four sixth-inning runs in relief of Joliet starter Nathan Kent, who allowed two runs in five innings.

Rick Prieto and Eddie Pearson started the T-Bones’ rally in the sixth with back-to-back walks that set the stage for Brown. Brown followed by driving a 3-2 offering into the gap in right field that scored Prieto and moved Pearson to third. After a ground out, Jack Jones made it 4-2 with his second sacrifice fly of the contest. Matt Ceriani and Chad Hill drove in the final two runs of the inning with back-to-back doubles to left field.

Joliet and Kansas City traded runs in the second inning on an RBI-single by Gabby Delgato and a run-scoring base hit by Hill, respectively. The JackHammers regained the lead in the third inning when Jeff Goldbach dropped a single into center field that made it 2-1. The T-Bones knotted the game at 2-all when Jones lifted a fly ball deep into the gap in right field that brought home Brown. Jones’ two sacrifice flies for the night matched a Northern League record.

Derek Forbes, who was signed by the T-Bones Tuesday afternoon, pitched the final two innings for Kansas City. The T-Bones and JackHammers will conclude their three-game series Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes: Jones’ single to left field in the second inning broke a string of 40 hitless at-bats for the Kansas City offense going back to last night’s game… One night after Prieto threw a runner out at home, the centerfielder was at it again Tuesday night. This time, he started the defensive play of the game by chasing down a gapper by Corey Paul that rolled all the way to the 409 marker in right-center field. Prieto gloved the ball and fired a strike to second baseman Chad Hill, who launched a perfect throw to third baseman Chad Shindle to beat Paul by a step-and-a-half… Prieto matched a season high with three walks Tuesday night. He has walked eight times in his last five games.
