T-Bones Drop Final Home Exhibition, 10-4

The Kansas City T-Bones fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs, 10-4, in their final home exhibition on Sunday afternoon at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, using one hit and two Lincoln errors to gain an early 2-0 advantage. The Saltdogs quickly answered in the top of the second against Devin Anderson, tying the game at two on a two-run single by Vance Albitz.

Anderson went four and one-thirds innings for Kansas City, allowing two runs on four hits.

Nick Farnsworth reclaimed the lead for Kansas City with an RBI single off Tim Brown in the fourth. Lincoln responded two innings later, scoring three runs off reliever Kyle Dahman to take a 5-3 lead. Former T-Bone Brandon Jones drove in the first run of the frame with an RBI single. The next batter, Joseph Ramos, reached on an error which allowed the final two runs to score.

Brian Joynt (pictured) drove in the final T-Bones run with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to push the score to 5-4. The Saltdogs answered with four runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach, using a two-run single by Ramos off Rusty Jones to cap off the frame.

Lincoln added one more run in the eighth to push the final to 10-4. Drew Graham threw a scoreless ninth to finish the game for Kansas City.

Kansas City plays their final exhibition game against the Sioux City Explorers in Topeka, KS on Monday night. First pitch is set for 7:05.

The T-Bones begin their 2011 campaign against the El Paso Diablos in El Paso, TX on May 12 and will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats in their home opener on May 17.
