Lincoln Blanks T-Bones in Exhibition, 4-0

The Kansas City T-Bones fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs, 4-0, in their Saturday night exhibition game at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Lincoln scored their first run against Ryne Reynoso in the second inning on a one-out home run by Maikel Jova. Reynoso pitched four and two-thirds innings for the T-Bones, surrendering the lone run on two hits while striking out three.

George Rivera added one and one-thirds scoreless frames for Kansas City before Grant Ledbetter entered to begin the seventh. Kevin Rios opened the inning with a single and later scored on a double by Gavin Dickey. Curt Smith immediately followed with an RBI double to give Lincoln a 3-0 advantage.

Steven Stewart threw a scoreless eighth, striking out one. Andy Shipman took over in the ninth and surrendered Lincoln’s final run on a solo home run by Blake Gailen.

Lincoln pitchers held Kansas City to just four hits in the contest, striking out 12 in the process.

The T-Bones begin their 2011 campaign against the El Paso Diablos in El Paso, TX on May 12 and will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats in their home opener on May 17.
