T-Bones Add Lefty Anderson to 2011 Staff

01/26/2011 9:11 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Tim Doherty have announced that left-hander Devin Anderson has been signed to a contract for the 2011 season.

Anderson, 27, comes to Kansas City after spending the last two seasons with the Joliet JackHammers. He made 21 appearances, 20 starts, with Joliet in 2010 after being used primarily as a reliever during his first six professional seasons. During the 2010 campaign, Anderson went 7-5 with a 4.10 ERA over 107 and two-thirds innings for the JackHammers.

“Devin is an impact left-hander who had a fantastic year last season,” Doherty said. “He helped give Joliet one of the better staffs in the league last year, and working with [pitching coach] Caleb [Balbuena] should push him over the hump this season.”

Anderson was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 28th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He spent four seasons in their minor league system before his release following the 2006 season. He enters 2011 with a 17-22 record and a 3.80 ERA over 407 and two-thirds career innings.

The T-Bones begin their 2011 campaign in El Paso, TX on May 12 and will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats in their home opener on May 17.
