On Monday, November 8, Sizzle made an appearance with Kansas City Young Variety as the charity presented the family of Sam Rice with a check for $3,500 to cover the cost of a new wheelchair.

Sam, an eight-year old Kansas City boy and avid baseball fan, suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. While insurance has helped ease some of the financial strain, Sam’s parents still owe thousands, including the cost of a specialized wheelchair.

On Monday, Kansas City Young Variety came through with a check for $3,500 to cover the cost of the new wheelchair. Young Variety is a group of area professionals in their 20s and low-30s whose mission is to serve local children with physical and mental disabilities.
