For the second time in the last four seasons, the Kansas City T-Bones have been named the Northern League Organization of the Year.

Having just completed their eighth season in Kansas City, the T-Bones are taking home the honors for the third time in franchise history after a record-setting year both on and off the field. As a team, Kansas City finished 16 games over .500 while posting a franchise-record 58 wins during the regular season. The T-Bones also earned a berth into the Northern League Championship Series for the second time in three years before falling to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. During the regular season, Kansas City tied for the best home record while leading the league in most offensive categories, including a league-record total of 162 home runs that shattered the previous mark of 123. In addition, CommunityAmerica Ballpark was honored as Northern League Playing Surface of the Year for the second consecutive season.

John Ehlert, the T-Bones owner and president, has seen his franchise continue to excel on the field, in the stands, and in the Kansas City community. On September 3, Kansas City honored its 2-millionth fan, becoming the fastest team in league history to reach that mark. With an average of 5,486 per game over their eight-year span, it took the T-Bones just 365 games to break the mark. They finished the 2010 season second in the league in total attendance and third in all of independent baseball with an average of 5,507 fans per game.

As well as succeeding at the gate, the T-Bones continue to play a key part in the community. The franchise has maintained its popular youth reading program, and continues to host premier high school and college baseball tournaments each year. Most recently, the T-Bones contributed $200,000 to the Wyandotte County Parks Foundation to build four ADA-accessible playgrounds in Kansas City, KS neighborhoods.
