The Joliet JackHammers (2-2) pounded out 21 hits in a 16-7 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones (2-2) Saturday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, forcing a decisive game five in the 2010 Northern League Semifinals.

The T-Bones got on the board in the first with a sacrifice fly by Jim Fasano off Paul Fagan (1-0), but Joliet answered in the second with an RBI single by Roberto Mena off Cody McAllister (0-1) that tied the game at one. Kansas City regained the lead in the bottom of the frame with an RBI groundout by Jimmy Mojica, but a five-run fourth gave the JackHammers a lead they would not relinquish.

Chris Colton hit an RBI single to plate the first run of the fourth for Joliet, and Jonathan Wyatt added a two-RBI double. Brad Correll then recorded an RBI double and later scored on an error, giving the JackHammers a 6-2 lead.

McAllister suffered the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits and one walk over three and two-thirds innings.

The T-Bones cut Joliet’s lead to 6-4 in the bottom of the fourth when Keanon Simon drew a bases-loaded walk, and Jacob Blackwood followed with an RBI groundout. The JackHammers once again answered, plating three runs in the fifth on a three-run home run by Colton off reliever Ryan Knippschild.

Joliet and Kansas City each added three more in the seventh, pushing the score to 12-7. Jon Nelson hit a three-run home run off Casey Hodges for the JackHammers. Fasano and Dwayne White each hit RBI singles and Keith Hernandez hit an RBI groundout for the T-Bones.

A grand slam by Josh Flores off Hunter Mense capped the scoring at 16-7 in the eighth before Drew Shetrone threw a scoreless ninth for Kansas City.

Fagan earned the win, allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits and four walks while striking out five over six and one-thirds innings.
