The Kansas City T-Bones (58-41) defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (60-39), 6-4, Sunday night in front of 6,529 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Mike Coles doubled of Reid Santos (7-5, pictured) to begin the game and then scored on an RBI single by Jeremiah Piepkorn, giving Fargo an early 1-0 lead. The T-Bones answered in the bottom of the frame when Ray Sadler hit a two-run home run off Matt Zoltak (1-2), bringing the score to 2-1.

Kansas City added four more in the third on three hits and three walks. Keanon Simon doubled to start the T-Bones half of the inning and scored on an RBI double by Gabriel Martinez. After Zoltak issued a walk to Sadler, Martinez came home on a wild pitch. Another walk put Rico Washington on and chased Zoltak. Matt Mossey entered in relief and surrendered a two-RBI single to Keith Hernandez, extending Kansas City’s lead to 6-1.

Zoltak allowed six runs on six hits and two walks over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one in the loss.

After allowing the run in the first, Santos threw four scoreless innings before giving up another run in the sixth. Nic Jackson singled to start the frame and moved to third on a two-base throwing error. A sacrifice fly by Piepkorn plated Jackson, pushing the score to 6-2.

Santos earned the win, surrendering just two runs, one earned, on five hits and four walks, striking out four. Mike Rocco threw a scoreless seventh, and Steven Stewart added a scoreless eighth for the T-Bones.

Matt Perisho took the mound in the ninth, and the first batter of the inning, Kole Zimmerman, reached on an error. Zach Penprase then hit a two-run home run to cap the scoring at 6-4. Perisho retired the next three batters to secure the Kansas City victory.
