T-Bones Reach Two Million Fans

09/04/2010 2:04 PM -

The Kansas City T-Bones are proud to announce that they have welcomed more than 2 million fans into CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Now in their eighth season, they are the fastest team in the Northern League to reach the 2 million mark. With an average of 5,486 over the eight-year span, it took Kansas City just 365 games to break the mark.

Ian Pointelin of Shawnee, KS was the mark-setting fan, becoming the 2 millionth to cross through the gates at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. As a result, Ian received a prize package including:

  • 2011 T-Bones season tickets
  • Gifts from Verizon and Yard House
  • Gift bag from the MeatLocker

The T-Bones moved to Kansas City after spending 10 seasons in Duluth, Minn., as the Duluth-Superior Dukes. They join four other teams in reaching the 2 million mark in modern Northern League history:  the St. Paul Saints, Winnipeg Goldeyes, Schaumburg Flyers and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

"The Kansas City T-Bones ownership had the foresight and drive to move the Duluth franchise to Kansas City when no one else did,” Northern League Director of Baseball Operations Harry Stavrenos said. “It is a daunting task to start-up everything anew and to keep the momentum going for all of these years.”

Over this span, the T-Bones are second in the Northern League and in the top five of all independent baseball teams in attendance.

“They and their staff and players are to be congratulated,” Stavrenos added. “We are all proud that they are members of the Northern League."
