The Kansas City T-Bones (50-38) scored 11 runs on nine hits and 10 walks to secure a series win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats (47-42) with an 11-7 victory Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

In front of 4,956 fans, Gary starter Andy Weeks walked the first four batters he faced in the fourth, forcing in one run. An RBI groundout by Rico Washington (pictured) added another, putting Kansas City ahead, 2-0.

The RailCats answered in the fifth, scoring five runs on five hits off Reid Santos (5-5). An RBI double by Mike Massaro plated the first run, and two-run home runs by both Randall Simon and Chris Carrara added four more, giving Gary a 5-2 advantage.

The T-Bones regained the lead in their half of the fifth, plating six runs on two hits, three walks and a hit batter. After Washington was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the third run of the inning, Keith Hernandez highlighted the frame with a three-run home run off reliever James Baker (2-4) that brought the score to 8-5.

Weeks allowed five runs on three hits and six walks over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three in the no-decision. Baker surrendered three runs on one hit and one walk over one-third of an inning in the loss.

Santos left after six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk, striking out two in the win. Steven Stewart entered in relief and threw one scoreless inning before Mike Perisho made his T-Bones debut in the eighth. Randall Simon singled off Perisho to start the frame and later scored on an RBI groundout by Carrera, marking the lone run Perisho allowed on three hits in one inning of work.

Kansas City plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single by Keanon Simon, an RBI double by Gabriel Martinez and an RBI single by Washington, extending the T-Bones lead to 11-6. Gary added another run in the ninth with a sacrifice fly by Randall Simon, capping the scoring at 11-7.

Washington and Hernandez both with one-for-four with three RBI to pace Kansas City. Every T-Bones offensive starter scored a run in the contest.

Kansas City travels to Rockford for a four-game series beginning Thursday night.
