T-Bones Reach League-Record Mark

08/17/2010 3:31 PM -

With three home runs as a team in their game against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on August 16, the Kansas City T-Bones pushed their season total to 125 to set a Northern League record for home runs by a team in a single season.

The new mark set by Kansas City breaks the previous record of 123, posted by Winnipeg during the 1998 campaign.  The previous franchise (since 1993, including Duluth years) high was 121, set during the T-Bones championship season in 2008. Winnipeg posted their total of 123 during an 86-game season, while August 16 marked the 79th game for Kansas City this year.

Through August 18, the T-Bones have 130 total home runs in 82 games, putting them on pace for 158 this season.
