The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (41-29) used a four-run sixth to erase a 5-2 deficit and take game one of a pivotal four-game series against the Kansas City T-Bones (42-30), 7-6, Monday night at Newman Outdoor Field. The victory moved Fargo into a first-place tie with the T-Bones.

Mike Cole reached safely on an error to begin the bottom of the first and advanced to second on a separate error on the same play.  The next batter, Nic Jackson, doubled off Andrew Cruse (8-4) to bring Coles home for an early 1-0 RedHawks lead.

Kansas City quickly answered in the top of the second, scoring three times against Scott Fogelson to pull ahead, 3-1.  Keanon Simon pushed the first run across with an RBI single before scoring along with Jimmy Mojica on a two-run double by Rico Washington two batters later.  Washington was activated from the disabled list prior to the game.

After a sacrifice fly by Jackson pulled Fargo within one in the third, a two-run home run by Jacob Blackwood gave the T-Bones a 5-2 lead in the top of the fourth.  Fogelson would remain in the game until the top of the sixth, leaving with one out and one in the frame.  The RedHawks then used three pitchers to finish the inning, with Matt Petrusek (1-2) inducing a foul popout from Ray Sadler with runners on the corners to end the inning.

Fogelson allowed five runs, three earned, on eight hits over five and one-thirds innings but did not factor into the decision.

The RedHawks picked up the first tally of the sixth on an RBI single by Coles.  Cruse left in favor of Erik Hamren after a walk to the next batter loaded the bases.  Hamren immediately surrendered a double to Eric Campbell to clear the bases and give Fargo a 6-5 lead.

Cruse was charged with six runs, five earned, on eight hits over five and two-thirds innings in the loss.  He has now surrendered five or more runs in four straight starts.

Hamren finished the sixth and added a perfect seventh inning before surrendering a run on a double-play groundout in the eighth to give the RedHawks an insurance run, 7-5.  Sadler pushed the final score to 7-6 with a solo home run off Casey Hoorelbeke in the ninth, but Cory Patton entered and induced a flyout from his only batter to earn his fourth save of the season.  Petrusek earned the victory with one and one-thirds innings of perfect relief.

Prior to the game, Kansas City activated Washington and pitcher Steven Stewart from the disabled list, and released infielder Jake Bradshaw.  The T-Bones also announced that pitcher Drew Graham has been traded to the Winnipeg Goldeyes for a player to be named.

Kansas City looks to rebound in game two of the four-game series tomorrow night as they send left-hander Reid Santos (4-3, 4.62) to face right-hander Matt Mossey (5-3, 4.15) and the RedHawks.  First pitch is set for 7:02.  Catch all the action online at www.tbonesbaseball.com or on the radio at KXTR 1660 AM.
