The Winnipeg Goldeyes (38-35) scored 17 times on 19 hits in the rubber match of their three-game series with the Kansas City T-Bones (42-29) Sunday afternoon, taking the game and series with a 17-7 win at Canwest Park.

Winnipeg struck for six runs against Ryan Knippschild (7-6) in the first inning, capping the frame with a three-run home run by Vince Harrison to gain an early 6-0 lead.  Former T-Bone Aharon Eggleston began the second inning with a solo shot to extend the Goldeyes advantage to seven.

Kansas City picked up a run in the third inning off Stephen Flake (4-3) on an RBI double by Jimmy Mojica.  The Goldeyes struck for six more on five hits and an error in the fifth, chasing Knippschild from the contest while extending their lead to 13-1.  Knippschild was charged with 11 runs, nine earned, on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings in the loss.  Kyle Heim entered to finish the fifth for Kansas City and surrendered two unearned runs on three hits and two walks in one-third of an inning.

The first three T-Bones batters reached safely in the sixth to force Flake from the game.  Ray Sadler singled home two runs off reliever Corey Bass before a three-run blast from Brian Joynt pushed the score to 13-6.  Justin Justice homered off Hunter Mense in the bottom of the sixth and Mojica began the T-Bones half of the seventh with a solo shot to push the score to 14-7.

Winnipeg picked up two more runs against Mense in the seventh before an RBI single from Juan Diaz off Ryan Fox capped the scoring in the eighth, 17-7.

Eggleston and Justice each collected four hits for the Goldeyes.  Harrison finished with five RBI while Justice and Diaz drove in three each.  Sadler ended the contest three-for-four with two RBI for Kansas City.

Kansas City now heads to Fargo for a first-place battle with the RedHawks.  Game one of the four-game series is scheduled for Monday night as the T-Bones send right-hander Andrew Cruse (8-3, 2.74) to face left-hander Scott Fogelson (6-3, 3.39) and Fargo.  First pitch is set for 7:02.  Catch all the action online at www.tbonesbaseball.com or on the radio at KXTR 1660 AM.
