The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Tim Doherty have announced the signings of former major league pitcher Francis Beltran (pictured) and local product Jake Bradshaw.

Beltran, 30, was originally signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Chicago Cubs in 1996.  The right-hander made his major league debut with the Cubs on June 28, 2002 and spent parts of three seasons at the major league level with the Cubs, Montreal Expos and Detroit Tigers.  He posted a 3-2 mark with a 5.69 ERA over 74 and one-thirds innings in the majors, a span of 67 relief appearances.  Beltran holds the distinction of being the last pitcher for the Expos after throwing the final inning in the last game played before the organization transitioned to the Washington Nationals.

Beltran spent the last two seasons in the Mexican League.  He joins the T-Bones after going 3-1 with four saves and a 2.08 ERA over 17 and one-thirds innings with the Piratas de Campeche this year, a span of 15 relief appearances.

Bradshaw, 24, was with the T-Bones during spring training but wasn’t able to break camp with the team.  The Kansas City native signed with the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association on June 29, seeing time in 12 games before his release.  Bradshaw played collegiately with both Northwest Missouri State and Kansas City Kansas Community College.

The T-Bones also announced that infielder Rico Washington and reliever Steven Stewart have been placed on the disabled list.
