07/07/2010 1:30 PM -

The Kansas City T-Bones (29-17) rallied late to take the rubber match of a three-game series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes (25-21), 6-5, Wednesday in front of 5,560 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Kansas City opened the scoring off Goldeyes starter Ace Walker with two runs in the second when Dwayne White hit an RBI double and later scored on an RBI single by Eladio Rodriguez.

Winnipeg took the lead in the fourth with three runs off starter Ryan Knippschild. An RBI double by Dee Brown plated the Goldeyes first run before Brown scored on a passed ball. A sacrifice fly by Brett Wallace added the third run, giving Winnipeg a 3-2 advantage.

Wallace added two more runs for the Goldeyes in the sixth with a two-run home run, extending their lead to 5-2. Knippschild left in favor of Kyle Heim with two outs in the inning. Heim induced a flyout to the only batter he faced to end the frame.

Knippschild was charged with five runs, four earned, on nine hits and three walks in five and two-thirds innings. He struck out six in the contest and did not factor into the decision.

The T-Bones cut the lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI double by White. Drew Graham (2-0) entered in the seventh for the T-Bones and threw two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one to earn the victory.

Jimmy Mojica began the rally with a one-out single in the seventh and scored on a two-run home run by Jacob Blackwood, tying the game at five. Kansas City manufactured the winning run in the eighth off Drew Shetrone (0-2), starting with back-to-back, one-out singles by Brian Joynt and White before a sacrifice fly by Ryan Fox capped the scoring at 6-5.

Shetrone suffered the loss after surrendering one run on three hits in his inning of work. Franklin Perez pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save of the season.

Kansas City has their first off day in 34 days Thursday before heading to Gary for their last series before the all-star break. First pitch of Friday’s series opener is set for 7:00. Catch all the action through streaming webcast at www.tbonesbaseball.com or on the radio at KXTR 1660 AM.
