For the fourth time in five weeks the Northern League has named a Kansas City T-Bone Player of the Week, this time selecting outfielder Ray Sadler for the honor during the week ending June 27.

Sadler, 29, batted .414 (12-for-29) with two doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI in seven games played during the week. He also scored seven runs and stole four bases in that span. He collected a base hit in all seven games played, including three hits apiece on June 25 and 27 versus Joliet.

The 6-1, 205-pound former major leaguer was signed by the Kansas City T-Bones on March 1, 2010 after playing last year with both the Houston and Tampa Bay organizations. A 10-year veteran, he made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 8, 2005.  Sadler’s first major league hit was a home run off Noah Lowry of the San Francisco Giants on May 11.

The right-handed slugger was originally drafted by Chicago Cubs in the 30th round of the 1999 amateur draft out of Hill College in Hillsboro, TX. He was later traded to the Pirates in 2005 in exchange for Randall Simon, and also spent time in the Astros and Rays farm systems. In his career, he has over 150 home runs and 140 stolen bases. Sadler is a native of Clifton, TX.

Sadler joins teammates Jacob Blackwood (week ending May 30), Jim Fasano (June 6), and Keanon Simon (June 20) with the selection.
